Youth Development

We pride ourselves in encouraging the youth join and actively participate in golf. In South Africa the youth make up less than 10% of registered golfers.

The challenge has always been how do we get the youngsters into the monthly games without upsetting others , over the years we have gradually placed these youngsters with the other members and this has been openly accepted by all. By allowing them to play and compete with the “Adult” members on equal terms has shown a remarkable improvement’s in their games.
 

Youngsters success stories:
 -Most of them have dropped their handicaps by 10-15 shots in a short space of time.
 -The Club League Champion for 2017 was one of these youngsters and another finished in 3rd spot.
 -The only member to get a hole in one at the club games only after 4 games.
 -One of our boys have joined the Golf Academy in Capetown, and wants to turn pro.
 -Another has been selected to be part of the KZN Golf Development team.
